Birthday Bash: RCCG Suspends Pastor

 Nearly four months after Pastor Siju Iluyomade organised a lavish 60th birthday party a week after the triple deaths of the Wigwes, who were devout members of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David Parish, the RCCG authorities have issued an order of suspension to pastor Idowu Iluyomade, senior pastor of the parish. The senior pastor whose suspension is to last a reported three months, was issued the suspension by the church's governing council alongside a commencement of investigation on accusations levelled against him regarding his leadership of the parish. Pastor Idowu Iluyomade's replacement is Pastor Charles Kpandei( formerly presiding over the RCCG Resurrection Parish Area 11), who resumed duties as the resident pastor on Sunday 2nd June, 2024.

Asides his now halted role as resident pastor of The RCCG City of David Parish located in Victoria Island, Pastor Idowu Iluyomade was the special Assistant to the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, on Christian Social Responsibility through His Love Foundation. The suspended pastor was also in charge of the Apapa Family of the church’s annex. It is yet unclear if his suspension as Senior pastor extends to all of his other roles within the church.
