27 years after he mysteriously vanished at the age of 17, a man named Omar Bin Omran, has been discovered alive in his neighbour's house in a hole in the ground in a sheep pen underneath stacks of hay, less than 200 meters from Omran's family home. Omar Bin's mysterious disappearance from his home(He was born into a family of 9 children) in Djelfa Algeria, at the age of 17 led his family to believe that he had been killed during the civil war between the North African nation's government and various Islamist rebel groups that raged for 10 years in the 1990s and early 2000s.

The 61 year old neighbour is now in police custody after Omar, who is now 45, was rescued on May 12. Footage was shared on social media and broadcast on Algerian television networks of the moment that he was found in what appeared to be a hole in the ground, described by authorities as a sheep pen, within the home of his alleged captor. Omar was discovered after the brother of the alleged suspect revealed his whereabouts on social media following an inheritance dispute.The blurry video shows Imram shocked to see the search party surrounding him, stray pieces of straw in his hair. Tragically, Imram's mother died in 2013 without ever knowing that her son was alive, but reports suggest the missing man was made aware of his mother's death whilst in captivity.
