A Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded social media influencer, Martins Vincent Otse, aka Verydarkman, in police custody after the police challenged his bail plea.
VeryDarkMan was arraigned on five counts bordering on cyberstalking. The case was adjourned to May 29, 2024.
The police prosecution team told Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon that they needed more time to respond to the application, and the court granted their request.

VeryDarkMan's lawyers made an application for him to be kept in police custody, which was granted, and he was taken to the National Cybercrime Centre. The charges include:
- "That you Martins Vincent Otse (A.K.A. VERYDARKBLACKMAN) 'M', 29 YRS... knowingly and intentionally posted videos... containing information that is grossly offensive, pornographic or of an indecent, obscene or menacing character..."

VeryDarkMan had recently condemned the Nigerian police for not arresting Bobrisky, saying "there is no law against cross-dressing" and also condemned the award of Best Dressed Female to the cross-dresser at a Nollywood event.
The police said they could not arrest Bobrisky due to "lack of evidence" and stated that their case against VeryDarkMan was ongoing.
