"Blair reported being upset over his upbringing and he felt he was not treated as he should have been as a child," Chandler police detectives wrote.
"Blair stated he had been planning for years to kill [the victims]." Initially, he planned to carry out the shooting on Mother's Day but waited until the next morning. When his father came downstairs, Blair was waiting with a gun and video camera to record the shooting.
He told his father, "This day is coming" before shooting him in the forearm. His mother was shot in the chest when she came out of the bedroom to investigate.
Blair showed remorse that his parents would live, according to court documents.
