Son Murders 70 Year Old Mother

 A 70 Year old woman named Mma-Offiong James Peter, was on Monday 4th April 2024, murdered by her 40 year old son, Inyangake James Peter, at Ikpe Annang Village located in the Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. Inyangake James Peter who was arrested by the police on April 4, 2024, at about 9:00 am, said he acted based on a voice which kept prompting him to kill his mother. The manner in which Inyangake James Peter chose to take his mother's life, is currently undisclosed to the public.

Confirming the tragic and bizarre incident in a statement given at the state capital, Uyo, public relations officer of The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Odiko Macdon, stated that the suspect who confessed to the crime had been transferred to the state CID for discrete investigation. The Police PRO further revealed that cases of some family members killing their biological relations has been of great concern to the Command in recent times.
