A 40 year old woman identified as Maryvianney Ikejimba, has been arrested by officials of the Edo Zonal Command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking(NAPTIP)for the alleged trafficking of 38 children in Delta state. According to reports, the suspect Maryvianney and her partner in crime, another woman identified simply as Chidera(and now on the run) had handed over the children to two orphanage homes in the guise of providing them with better care. The child traffickers had taken the children from their parents at a farm community located in Enugu-Awka camp by Monastery, Ilah, Delta State.

Confirming the arrest of Maryvianney Ikejimba and the recovery of 32 of the 38 children, zonal commander of the Edo state NAPTIP, Nduka Nwanwenne, revealed that the suspect had been able to take the children from their family by claiming to have been trained in Ghana as a Rev. sister with her organisation's headquarters located in the Philippines. The NAPTIP zonal commander also affirmed Ms. Ikejimba's arrest happened as a result of tip-off received by the agency.
