Nigerian Man Beats Wife to Death In The UK

 A 48 year old Nigerian man resident in the UK named Olubunmi Abodunde who beat his wife, 41 year old Taiwo Abodunde to death with their son's skateboard in 2023, is set to face trial for his actions. The tragic incident which occurred barely one year after the couple and their three children left Nigeria for The UK in 2022, led to the arrest and subsequent investigation of Taiwo Abodunde who had battered his wife while police officers had waiting right outside the home to obtain permission from their superiors to forcefully enter the couple's apartment. The police gained entry into the house 25 minutes later to find Taiwo Abodunde lying lifeless with her skull smashed in.

 The accused who is now due to go on trial for murder but abruptly pled gully on Wednesday 24th April 2024, shortly after a jury had been sworn in, has been warned by the judge, Martyn Levett, sitting at Ipswich Crown Court, that his only possible sentence despite his new plea, is life imprisonment. Olubunmi Abodunde who before his arrest, worked for the Cambridge Manor care home, which provides dementia, residential and respite care, will remain in remandment until his sentencing on 9th May, 2024.
