Mr Ibu Set to be Buried in Hometown

 Following the death of Nollywood actor Joh Okafor better known as Mr Ibu, on 2nd March 2024, after a prolonged illness and complications from diabetes, his family has announced burial plans for the deceased veteran actor. According to a statement released by Mr Ibu's family, the late actor will be laid to rest on 28th June 2024 in his hometown , Amuri, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. The statement which was jointly signed by the deceased's older brother, Sunday Okafor, on behalf of his entire family, emphasized the decision to honour the loving memory of the legend that was John Ikechukwu Okafor.

John Okafor AKA Mr Ibu, hailed from Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state. His acting roles included over 200 Nollywood films. Mr Ibu was considered one of Nigeria's most talented and highest paid comic characters. John Okafor earned the moniker "Mr Ibu" after the titular character of a blockbuster film he acted in 2004. However, John Okafor claimed to have inherited the name Mr Ibu from his grandfather.
