A Georgia man identified as Curtis Jack, has received a 50-year prison sentence for intentionally mixing antifreeze into his 18-day-old daughter's breastmilk, aiming to harm her.
The incident occurred in October 2020 when the infant, Madison, fell ill.
She tested positive for ethylene glycol, a substance present in antifreeze.
Investigation revealed that Jack, who didn't want to pay child support after impregnating a co-worker, had collected breastmilk from his child's mother while she was hospitalized after childbirth.

He delivered the tainted milk to the child's grandmother, resulting in the baby falling critically ill within 24 hours.
The jury convicted Jack of attempted murder, among other charges, and he was sentenced to 50 years, with 40 to serve in custody.
Despite the severity of the poisoning, the child's mother chose not to provide a statement at Jack's sentencing, but reports indicate that the little girl is recovering well.
Ethylene glycol is highly toxic, even in small doses, causing symptoms such as drowsiness, vomiting, kidney damage, and potentially death.
