Ms. Ikeji was dragged before the court by the NBM of Africa and three others after she had failed to honour the demand letter of retraction and apology over the libelous article published by her blog on October 19, 2021. According to the prosecution, Linda Ikeji had on said date labelled the Neo-Black Movement (NBM) Africa, a "dreaded cult group, black axe and criminal organisation" in addition to other libelous references. President of the Neo-Black Movement Africa, Mr Ese Kakor, who avowed the legality of the organisation, expressed satisfaction with the judgement and declared it a warning to other bloggers who in a bid to defame people or organisations, come up with malicious claims.
