Following the tragic and shocking death of Nollywood actor, Junior Pope Odonwodo and other members of a film crew, in a boating accident that occurred on 10th April 2024, while they had been returning from a movie location in Asaba, the Delta state capital, the Actors Guild of Nigeria, has indefinitely suspended all film productions involving riverine areas and boat rides.

In a release signed by president of the guild , Ejezie Emeka Rollas, the guild in addition to suspending locations involving riverine areas and boat rides, declared that there be no nationwide film shoots in all locations across the country on Thursday 11th April, 2024. The press statement dated 11 April 2024, also decreed that the movie titled "Another Side of Life" whose filming had led to tragic drowning incident of Junior Pope Odonwodo and other crew members, was suspended indefinitely. The stringent measures extends to producer of the film, Adanma Luke, as no actor is permitted to work in any of her productions until further notice. The Actors Guild of Nigeria affirmed the guild's commitment to searching for and discovering the bodies of the other victims of the tragic boating incident.
