Gospel Minister Nathaniel Bassey Initiates Legal Steps Against Social Defamation

 Following a now viral claim by a Facebook user named Okoronkwo Ejike, regarding the paternity of gospel minister Mercy Chinwo's son, just a few hours after public photos of the child were released by the parents, gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey, has initiated legal actions against the Facebooker as well as three other netizens. It will be recalled that the Facebook user, Okoronkwo Ejike, had emphatically declared to the public that Mercy Chinwo's son with her husband, Pastor Blessed Uzochikwa, had truly been fathered by her colleague and fellow gospel minister, Nathaniel Bassey.

In his petition and press statement to the Inspector General of Police via his solicitors, Nathaniel Bassey referred to Okoronkwo Ejike's claim as an authoritative accusation against him. Referring to the Facebooker's claim as "grossly annoying and offensive falsehood", Nathaniel Bassey emphasized his intention to explore all options legally available to him in order to address the matter of Okoronkwo Ejike's criminally defamatory allegations.
