Following the arrest and eventual conviction of crossdresser and social media personality, Idris Olarewaju Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky on charges of naira abuse, an anonymous senior officer the Nigeria Correctional Service has reportedly informed The Punch that Bobrisky's biological features as a male had shown no signs of realignment upon examination before his entry into the prison facility. The officer also stated that the examination of the crossdresser's privates meant that he would be remanded with other male prisoners in the course of serving his six months sentence.

It will be recalled that despite multiple and insistent claims to Nigerians that he had undergone sex change to become a woman, Bobrisky had upon being questioned by the judge on his gender identification during his court proceedings, informed the court that he was a male. Detailing the now convicted crossdresser's activities in the correctional facility, the anonymous officer stated: “He is not getting any five-star treatment and is not being protected from anybody. He follows the same rules and regulations just like every other inmate. Single cells of isolation cells are to prevent outbreaks of communicable diseases. In a male prison, homosexuality is outlawed and it is a grievous offence. Sodomy or homosexuality, is frowned upon here in the custodial centre. So any inmate that tries to violate him will face the law.”
