The governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir, has in a video making the rounds on the internet, harshly condemned the meals being provided to Muslim faithfuls by the feeding centers set up by the state to provide food during the Ramadan fasting. In an unannounced visit to one of the centres at the Municipal Local Government Area, the governor expressed dissatisfaction with the kind of food being cooked and distributed to the people of Kano after the fasting hours.
Expressing anger at the seeming sabotage and misuse of the funds allocated the feeding project, Governor Abba Kabir warned that there not be a repetition in the poor quality of food being provided to people. He vehemently directed his Chief of Staff, Shehu Wada Sagagi, to take note of the development of the feeding scheme and provide him with feedback on a daily basis. The governor affirmed the continuation of impromptu visits to various feeding centers and emphatically declared that drastic measures will be taken against any center found hoarding food or mismanaging items provided by the state.
