Video: Former Emir Weeps Profusely in Tribute to Hebert Wigwe

While delivering his tribute in honour of deceased Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe, former Central Bank Governor and former Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, on Wednesday 6th March 2024, wept profusely in the presence of a crowd in attendance at the night of tribute. Giving details of his relationship with the late Access Bank CEO, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi  bemoaned the fact that he'd fully expected to pass away before Herbert Wigwe.

The 62 year old former Emir narrated that Herbert Wigwe had stood by him in loyalty when he had been dethroned as Emir. He also stated that he had placed Herbert in charge of the trust he had set up with all of his savings for his many children, because he knew that Mr Wigwe was fully capable of looking after the interests of his offspring. The former CBN governor further revealed that the late Access Bank CEO and his partner Aig Imoukhuede, were crucial to his success during his five year tenure as governor of the country's apex bank.
