Man Goes on Stabbing Spree in Chicago; Multiple Lives Lost

 A total of four people have reportedly lost their lives in a stabbing spree that took place in multiple addresses in Rockford, State of Illinois, on the afternoon of Wednesday 27 March, 2024. In addition to the four lives lost, at least, five people were reported severely wounded in the sporadic stabbing attacks. According to the Rockford Police statement which failed to provide a motive for the multiple murders, a 22 year old male named Christian Ivan Soto, had been taken into custody in connection with the stabbing spree which led to the deaths of a 15 year old girl, a 63 year old woman and those of two men aged 49 and 22, respectively. The police also confirmed that the first call regarding the multiple stabbing, was received at around 1:15pm.

Christian Soto was booked on 11 charges including murder and intent to murder along with home invasion with a dangerous weapon at 12.39 am, Thursday, March 28 with no bond according to the Winnebago County Jail records. His first court date is scheduled for this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Police has urged Rockford residents to look at their cameras and doorbells for any video footage related to the incidents, and to submit any tips to police or anonymously through the Rockford Area Crime Stoppers. Speaking at a news conference, Rockford Mayor, Tom McNamara, said he was “totally shaken by this act of violence and the impact that it’s having now on multiple families’ lives.”
