LASG Set to Enforce Indoor Smoking Areas at Clubs and Restaurants

 The Lagos State Government has revealed its intention to enforce the creation of indoor smoking areas  at nightclubs, hotels, bars and lounges across the state for a safer and healthier nightlife. Speaking at a safety workshop organised for stakeholders in the hospitality sector of the state on Tuesday 5 March, director general of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola, and the General Manager, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, Dr Tunde Ajayi, revealed that it the need to enforce indoor smoking areas at these recreational centers, is to ensure that Nigeria gets on the path of complying with international standards on smoking regulations. 

In the words of the director general of the Lagos State Safety Commission: "There is no doubt, Lagos State will enforce indoor smoking at nightclubs, bars and lounges because it is high time we did our business as the law stipulates and not as we want it to be done, especially in Lagos State where safety and health of all the citizens is of utmost concern of the (Babajide) Sanwo-Olu-led administration."
