Landlord Charged to Court Over Defilement of Tenant's Daughter

 The magistrate presiding over a Family Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Tuesday ordered the remandment of a 50 year old male identified as Musibau Lamidi, over the alleged defilement of his tenant’s six year old daughter. The magistrate, Mrs S. A. Adesina, ordered that the landlord be kept at the Agodi custodial facility pending advice from the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions.

Narrating the accused's offence, state prosecutor, Gbemisola Adedeji, informed the court that Mr Lamidi had on 13th March 2024, sexually abused his tenant's daughter whom had been left at home by her distraught mother after she had issued a notice of eviction by the landlord. The mother of the six year old had left home in search of a new apartment when Mr Lamidi had crept into the same apartment(located in the Olode area of Ibadan)on which he had issued eviction notice and sexually abused the six year old. Despite entering a not guilty plea, Mr Lamidi s remandment was ordered by the magistrate who also slated 25th April for adjournment of the case.
