80 Year Old Man Commits Suicide as a Result of Economic Hardship

 An eighty year old man identified as Isiaka Ayinde, has reportedly taken his own life by hanging himself.  According to reports, the octogenarian who failed to leave a suicide note, had been discovered dangling from a rope tied to one of the burglary shields in his kitchen, by one of his landlord's children. The body of the deceased was discovered at about 7:30am on Thursday 7th March, in his apartment located on Watchtower Street in the  Araromi area of Imota, Lagos. Police officers who first surveyed the scene attributed the eighty year old's suicide to an inability to cope with the economic hardship in the country.

Confirming Mr Isiaka Ayinde's suicide, Public Relations Officer of The Lagos State Police, SP Benjamin Hundenyin, revealed that the scene of the unfortunate occurrence had been visited by officers of the Imota Division who had also taken photographs of the said scene. SP Benjamin Hundenyin also stated that the octogenarian's corpse was not moved to the mortuary as per request from his relatives who expressed interest in an immediate burial ceremony as a result of the deceased's age and religious beliefs.
