Man Kills Father with Pestle in the Middle of Argument

 A 29 year old man identified as Joseph Yakubu, has been arrested by operatives of The Plateau State Police Command, for the alleged murder of his 49 year old biological father, Daylop Yakubu. According to reports, the incident occurred in the Anglo-Jos community, Jos South Local Government Area of the state and Yakubu was among other suspects paraded for various offences by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Hassan Yabanet, at the command’s headquarters in Jos on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

Narrating the incident to the press, CP Hassan Yabanet, revealed that on 20th February 2024, the suspect had picked a pestle and hit his father during a minor misunderstanding. The blow from the pestle had been so intense that Mr Daylop Yakubu immediately lost consciousness and was rushed to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital for medical intervention. Unfortunately, he passed away in the middle of receiving treatment a day after his son's attack and was deposited in the mortuary. The police CP did not however disclose the kind of "misunderstanding" that had led Joseph Yakubu to attack his father with a pestle.
