President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former vice president/PDP's presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Atiku Abubakar, have in separate posts on social media congratulated Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele, on the the success of her film "A Tribe Called Judah" at the box office. The film which was released in December to rave reviews, has smashed box office records, by becoming the first Nigerian movie to earn 1bn naira ($1.1m; £900,000) in domestic theatres.

Extending his felicitations to Ms Akindele via his special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extolled the excellence of the Nigerian creative industry and promised to provide a conducive environment for the industry to thrive further. Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, in extending his heartiest congratulations to Funke Akindele stated that "A Tribe Called Judah" was "not just a film but a cultural gem that reflects the vibrancy and resilience of Nigerian cinema".
