Thirty residents of Tasharnagulle village, located in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, have been kidnapped by armed men wearing military uniforms. According to reports, these armed men impersonating military officers, invaded the village at about 8:00pm on Sunday 21st January 2024. This attack comes just a few weeks after a military camp was attacked by bandits in Nahuta village located in the same local government area.

Narrating the ordeal, an eyewitness who escaped the Tasharnagulle kidnapping told the press that the attackers claimed to have been military and where there to "help the villagers", the witness also stated that the invaders warned the villagers not to run as any person caught attempting to do would be shot. The eyewitness also revealed that the invaders went door to door and forced people(including women and children) out of their homes in order to kidnap them. Despite confirmation of the attack by residents of Tasharnagulle village, police authorities through the Katsina police spokesperson, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu ASP, claim to still be investigating the situation.
