Teenager Detained for Stabbing Imam to Death

 An 18 year old male identified as Yusuf Haruna, , has on the orders of a chief magistrate court in Kano, been remanded in a correctional facility for allegedly stabbing an Imam to death. Recounting the defendant's criminal act, the prosecutor, Mrs Fatima Ado-Atah, told the court that the accused attacked the 45 year old Imam  named Sani Mohammed, with a knife and in the process, dealt fatal stab wound to his back. She also revealed that the victim was declared dead on arrival at the Murtala Specialist Hospital, where he was rushed to following the stab wounds.

The accused, Yusuf Haruna, who until the incident, was a resident of Tudun Nufawa Quarters Kano, has denied the crime and pled not guilty to charges of culpable homicide. However, Chief Magistrate, Binta Ibrahim-Galadanchi, ordered that the defendant be remanded in a Correctional Center. Upon the defendant's request for bail, the magistrate adjourned ruling until 31st January, 2023.
