Presidential Aide Speaks on Rumoured Relocation of The FCT

 Following a memo which circulated on social media regarding the aviation minister's decision to move the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) headquarters from Abuja to Lagos, presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, has put up a lengthy post on his official social media platform stating dispelling supposed rumours surrounding the relocation of the nation's capital from Abuja to Lagos. The presidential aide emphatically stated that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu has "no plan whatsoever to move the Federal Capital to Lagos".

Referring to those peddling the rumour of the FCT relocation as " dishonest, ethnic and regional champions trying to draw attention to themselves", Bayo Onanuga affirmed that "Abuja has come to stay" as the location of the nation's capital is backed by law. The presidential aide warned that those peddling the unfounded rumours of the FCT relocation, are playing a dangerous politics to pit the North against the south. He further implored people to stop "dirty politics" as "we cannot be playing politics with everything".
