Police Reminds Nigerians of The Illegality of Homosexual Relationships

 Following a viral video of a group of lesbians who joined a rather popular social media challenge, The Nigeria Police has deemed it fit remind citizens of the illegality of Homosexual/same sex relationships. The police also warned that anyone caught engaging in illegal same sex relationships will be arrested and prosecuted as dictated by the country's constitution.

 Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, in a public statement released on Thursday 25th January 2024, revealed that in accordance with the Nigerian Criminal Code Act applicable in Southern States, unnatural offences are prohibited under Sections 214 to 217. Affirming that such "unnatural practices" are alien to the Nigerian culture, the Police PRO further urged all Nigerian citizens to diligently report all suspicious activities as well as provide information related to unnatural offences or same sex relationships amongst residents of various communities in the country.
