"We Need Each Other" President Tinubu Implores Multinationals Against Leaving Nigeria

 Following the announcement of consumer goods company Procter and Gamble, of its decision to exit Nigeria(just four months after gsk's exit)and the company's decision to transition its operation in the country to an import-only model, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has implored multinationals to not leave the country. Addressing a visiting delegation of the management of Shell Group led by its Global Integrated Gas and Upstream Director, Ms. Zoe Yujnovich, at the State House, Abuja, President Tinubu said: “We are very focused on resolving all investment-related issues. There is no bottleneck that is too difficult for us to remove in our determined march toward making Nigeria the African haven for large-scale investment in all key sectors.”

The president implored the representatives to not leave Nigeria because "we need each other". Reminiscing on Nigeria’s longstanding ties with Shell, the President assured the Shell delegation of his administration’s commitment to securing and fostering both existing and new investments. He pledged to continue showing solidarity and support towards the multinationals. In addition, president Tinubu expressed confidence in the potential for increased investment from Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria.
