D'Banj Cleared of Rape and Fraud Accusations

 Following conclusive investigation, Nigerian singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo popularly known as D'Banj, has been cleared of rape and fraud allegations by the Nigeria Police Force and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). It will be recalled that a few months ago, the musician was accused of rape and fraudulent dealings regarding the N-Power in two separate incidents.  The first accusation of rape occurred in 2020 while the charges of fraud via funds diversion were levelled against D'Banj in 2022.

An affidavit deposed by Toheeb Lawal of  an Abuja-based law firm, Law Corridor, before District Court of Abuja, wherein the reports of the Nigeria Police Investigation and Clearance from the anti-corruption agency were exhibited and marked exhibited A and B, the legal practitioner averred that the police and ICPC cleared the singer of rape and fraud allegations. He further affirmed that D'Banj had never had access to government funds and had provided support to the N-Power without any form of monetary gain or compensation.
