At an event themed “A Channel of Hope Where There is Despair", organised by the Global Affairs Magazine Award (GAMA), the Labour Party's presidential candidate in the February 2023 election and former governor of Anambra state Mr Peter Obi, received an award declaring him Best Politician of The Year. The award presentation which held at the Radisson Blu Hotel Ikeja on Saturday 25th November, honoured Mr Peter Obi's exemplary leadership, conduct and obvious love for citizens during the presidential election in February as well as in subsequent court dealings challenging the outcome of the election.

Rufai Oseni, presenter at Arise TV who has gained a reputation for his often blunt interviews and interrogation of politicians also received an award as the "Most Courageous Television Host" of the year. Other influential figures who received awards for their exemplary or outstanding deeds include: Dr Daniel Olukoya, Founder of Mountain of Fire and Miracle Ministries who bagged a lifetime achievement award for service to humanity, veteran actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, reggae musician, Orits Wiliki, and Yinka Davies, a vocalist, were all honoured for their outstanding contributions to the growth of entertainment in Nigeria.
