Carpenter Beats Apprentice to Death in Delta State

 A carpenter identified as Orunor, has reportedly beat his apprentice to death in Sapele, Delta state. According to witness accounts, the now deceased apprentice named Onome had been severely beaten by his boss after he showed up late for the day's apprenticeship, he had also accused the apprentice of having stolen his debit (ATM)card, hence the increased severity of the beating. At the end of the day's working hours, the young apprentice had left his master's workshop in severe pain and returned home to his parents who upon sighting their son, rushed him to the hospital. Other witnesses also stated that Onome had passed away before he could be attended to by the medical team at the hospital.

According to further reports, upon receiving news of his apprentice's death, Orunor the carpenter fled his workshop and remains on the run. Operatives of the Delta State Police Command, Sapele Area Command, are said to be hot on the trail of the fleeing master with an intention to arrest him for manslaughter.
