Video: Kano State Governor Fulfils Campaign Promise, Conducts Mass Wedding For 1800 Couples

 There was celebration and fanfare on Saturday, October 14 as the Kano state government conducted a mass wedding ceremony for 1800 couples.

 It was gathered that majority of the beneficiaries of the initiative were widows and divorcees.

The state government also paid about N50,000 in dowry on behalf of each groom to their bride at the ceremony officiated by Islamic clerics.

 The couples were also given a bed, bedding, food, and clothes, but the couples were required to repay the gifts to the state government in case of divorce.

The mass wedding is a fulfilment of one of the campaign promise of the Kano State governor.
