Three Islamic Clerics Arrested For Beheading Nigerian Surveyor

 The police in Oyo State has arrested three Islamic clerics for allegedly beheading a surveyor in the Moniya area of Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State.

It was gathered that one of the cleric, a landlord in the Alapata area of Apete in Ido Local Government Area has his house located a few blocks away from the surveyor’s office.

The surveyor, famed for selling and buying lands in the area is a known face in the community.

According to reports, the clerics lured the surveyor, who had worked for one of them, on the pretext of the awarding a deal to him, to a bush in Moniya where he was killed and beheaded.

Sources in the area said the three clerics were arrested in the Sango area of Ibadan North Local Government Area on Thursday.

The arrest threw residents of the community into a state of shock as they said one of the clerics was popularly known with his distinct turban among the Islamic community of Alapata.

The Divisional Police Officer, CSP Akande Rufus Adegoke, while confirming the arrest of the clerics said though they were landlords in his jurisdiction but the heinous act was perpetrated in Moniya.

The CSP said the case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department, Iyaganku for further investigation.
