A Lagos State High Court has sentenced a police officer, ASP Drambi Vandi, to death by hanging for killing lawyer, Barrister Bolanle Raheem.
Vandi had at a police checkpoint in the presence of her husband, shot Mrs Raheem dead as they were returning from church on Christmas Day December 25, 2022.

Justice Ibironke Harrison while delivering judgment on Monday, October 9, ruled that the suspended Police Officer was guilty of the Christmas Day killing of the lawyer.
The court therefore sentenced him to death by hanging.
"The court finds the defendant guilty on one count of murder. You will be hanged by the neck till you are dead,” the judge ruled.
It would be recalled that pregnant Bolanle Raheem was shot dead in an incident involving Vandi and other police officers at the Ajah underbridge, Lagos.
Vandi had pulled the trigger, with the bullet piercing the chest of the deceased.
She was declared dead at the third hospital she was taken to after the shooting incident.
