A mentally unstable man identified as Ali Denham has killed eight people and caused injury to three others in Kate-Gamji located in the Libbo ward of the Shelleng Local Government Area of Adamawa state. According to sources, the mentally unstable Ali Denham had embarked on killing spree and had randomly stabbed victims with the dagger he violently brandished. Aggrieved youths had eventually disarmed and beaten the mentally ill man to death. The unfortunate multiple deaths occurred on 4th October, 2023.

Confirming the incident to the press, Police Spokesperson in Adamawa state, Sulaiman Nguroje, warned families against keeping insane persons at home when they should be admitted at psychiatric hospitals. The police spokesperson further stated that investigation had commenced as to the mob responsible for delivering jungle justice to the mentally unstable man. Chairman of Shelleng Local Government Abubakar Musa Abba, also paid condolence visits to bereaved relatives of the victims, urging them to consider the losses the will of the Almighty Allah.
