Defence Minister and General Secretary of The Republic of Chad, Gen. Daoud Yaya Brahim and Haliki Choua Mahamat, have resigned after two separate sex tapes purportedly involving the two men in sexual acts with other people, were leaked on social media. An administration spokesperson confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday, October 18, 2023. The spokesperson revealed that Prime Minister Saleh Kebzabo accepted the resignations of both officials. There's yet no official statement from both men involved in the sex scandal.

According to sources, this is the first time in Chad’s political history that ministers involved in a sex scandal have left the government. Haliki Choua Mahamat has served as minister and secretary general of the government since Idriss Déby Itno took power. General Daoud Yaya Brahim was appointed Minister of Defence in April 2021.
