Mrs Amma Buwa, daughter of Bukar Abacha, a member of the Borno State House of Assembly representing Ngala Local Government Area , has been strangled to death by unknown assailants. The unfortunate incident which occurred in the Gidan Dembe area of Maiduguri, the state capital, attracted great public attention as residents of the community gathered to exchange different versions of how the lawmaker's daughter was murdered.

According to sources, the tragic murder of Amma Buwa occurred on Tuesday 17th October, at about 6:30pm after the deceased's husband left their shared home to pray in the mosque. Describing the scene, husband of the victim, said he found his wife's lifeless body in his house with her hand and legs tied behind her while her two-year-old child cried by her side. The Gwange Police Division has stated that the corpse which has been deposited at the Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, will be undergoing autopsy. The Police also revealed that investigation as to the suspicious cause of death of the lawmaker's daughter is already in progress.
