Bobi, World's Oldest Dog Bobi Passes On

 The world's oldest dog, Bobi has passed on five months after marking its 31st birthday.


Bobi had spent its entire life at a family-run farm in Portugal. 


The owner of a pet photography studio in Lisbon while sharing the news on social media, paid tribute to the iconic canine. 





  "Rest in peace friend. Thank you for having had the privilege of meeting you, the oldest dog in the world, What an amazing life you had", he said.


The late dog was in February 2023 certified by the Guinness World Record as the oldest dog in the world, after it lived longer than the previous record-holder, a chihuahua in Ohio, USA.

 Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, is Portuguese livestock guardian dog, holds the title for the oldest dog ever, previously held by an Australian cattle dog that lived to 29 years and five months.


The age of Bobi was officially verified by his vet and a government-authorised pet database in Portugal with its owner, Leonel Costa, holding a grand birthday party for Bobi in May when he turned 31.
