APC Chairman Suspended For Alleged Defilement Of Minor

 The Jigawa State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has suspended the party chairman in Roni Local Government, Saleh Idris.

In a statement signed by the state chairman, Hon. Aminu Sani Gumel, the APC said Saleh Idris will be suspended pending the outcome of investigations.

 It would be recalled that 56-year-old Saleh Idris was arrested by the police for allegedly raping his housegirl.

Read the APC statement:

“Following the allegation of rape and impregnation of minor and the outcome of preliminary investigation of the state chapter, the party has come up with the following resolutions:

“That your act contravened section 21.2 (viii) and (x) of the APC 2022 Constitution as amended and that there is a need for further investigations.”

The statement added that the party suspended the chairman pending the outcome of the investigation, even as it ordered him to hand over its affairs to the local government’s vice chairman.
