LASG Commences Market Demolition at Railway Tracks

 Following Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's visit to the Agege Station of The Red Line Rail Project on Wednesday 27th September and the two day evacuation ultimatum issued traders displaying their wares on railway tracks, the Lagos State government has commenced the process of demolishing markets around railway stations in the state. The ongoing demolition exercise by the Lagos State Building Control Agency started at 10:20 a.m. on Saturday 30th September and the Lateef Jakande Train Station was the first affected station.

Other stations affected by the demolition undertaken by Control Agency include: The Iju, Ebute-Metta , Yaba, Agege and Mushin Railway Stations. Governor Sanwo-Olu had during his visit to the Agege Station, told the traders that the railways belonged to the government and it was extremely dangerous for citizens to display their goods on tracks meant for train commute as the frequency with which the trains are to on the track, poses serious risks to lives.
