Governor of Lagos state Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has issued a two day ultimatum to traders who display their wares on railway tracks. The governor who made this pronouncement during a visit to the Age Station of The Red Line Rail Project on Wednesday 27th September, emphasized that the railway was not a marketplace and it was his duty to prevent any form of casualty hence, the need for evacuation. He also informed the traders that he intended to clear out the railway in the coming week.

In Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's words: "This is not a market. It is government road for transportation. I'm giving you two days to leave this place because we're coming to clear everything next week. You can't trade here at all. That is why I came to tell you myself. I want all of you out of here. We have spent a lot on this place for transportation. Trains will be passing here almost every ten minutes and I don't want lives to be wasted."
