"Resist Old Notes and Face Prosecution"Sanwo-Olu Threatens Lagos Residents

 Governor of Lagos Babajide Sanwo-Olu has given a public address encouraging and applauding Lagosians on their calmness and patience following the controversy generated by the shortage of the country's currency. Via his official social media platforms, the governor informed Lagosians that Lagos state has joined  the dispute on the old notes remaining a legal tender at the Supreme Court, which today adjourned the hearing of the matter till February 22. 

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu further warned residents rejecting the old notes to desist from doing so or risk prosecution. He stated that it is against the law to reject the old notes, as doing so is contrary to the position of the Supreme Court. The governor urged everyone to remain law-abiding citizens and shun mischief makers who might intend to exploit the unfortunate situation.
