The candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) senator Isiaka Adeleke victory at the Osun State Governorship Election is perceived by many as not just a defeat for the current governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola but a direct rejection of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as a reflection of his dwindling acceptance in Osun State.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu had before the Osun state governorship election boasted in Ekiti state that he has never lost an election; a statement which was adjudged as a show of arrogance. He further aggravated his withering acceptance by stating that the Opposition parties in the Osun state governorship election would labour in vain.
Interestingly, in his reaction to the APC's outing in the Osun state governorship election, Bola Ahmed Tinubu stated that he is set to review the performance of his party necessary for him to restrategize and leverage his unutilized opportunities. He added that defeat and victory are inseparable ingredients of democracy.
"I don’t dwell on my losses. I review my mistakes, take lessons and strategize to maximise the opportunities to Win the Next Battle”, he tweeted.
