Former Governor of Lagos State Defects to Labour Party

Former Governor of Lagos state, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has dumped APC for LP. Mr Ambode who was governor of the state from  2015- 2019 under the All Progressive Congress has picked up the Labour Party's gubernatorial ticket.

Ambode lost an opportunity for a second tenure in 2019 to current governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Mr Sanwo-Olu defeated the then incumbent in the APC's primary election. There have been mixed reactions to the news of his defection and intention to recontest in the forthcoming elections in Lagos. Some say it's a good idea while others wonder why these politicians cannot seem to "rest".

Some people have raised their opinion for and some against. A lady @mlyday said "political posts aren't a birthright. One has to wonder why an incumbent governor who could not retain his place at the time decides to try again with another party? What happened to graciously accepting defeat and giving a chance to other people?"

Some others are of the opinion that Ambode did well for Lagos State and should be given another chance.

"He did very well. I felt his impact as Lagos State Governor more than any other governor ever, remove that Tinubu godfatherism he would have done better, why did he remove him?" @judeobukoko1974 said.

Do you think Ambode should have another chance?
