The former governor of Lagos State, Akinwumi Ambode has through his aide, responded to the report that he has defected to the Labour party to contest for the Lagos State governorship election in 2023.
Reports making rounds have it that the former governor who was denied the All Progressive Congress (APC) Governorship ticket by the party hierarchy in 2019, seeks to return to power on the platform of the Labour party.
However, an unnamed aide to the ex-governor quoted by Sahara Reporters claims that the report about Ambode leaving APC for Labour party is untrue.
The aide added that the story was fabricated by ambitious bloggers whose malicious intention is to dent the image of former governor Ambode.

" Ambode is a very loyal member of APC. What you are reading is just a lie that they (bloggers) want to use to cause more problems to Ambode.
"He is not going anywhere. He is still with APC," the aide said.
