"Attach Pictures To Ballot Papers" Priest Implores INEC

Reverend Father Kelvin Ugwu, the priest who trended a while ago for firing a hot clapback at a follower, has made a Facebook post calling upon the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)to modify the ballot papers in such a way that the papers carry the names, party logos and photos of aspiring candidates. The priest implored the electoral commission to see to the modification especially as regards the forthcoming presidential election of 2023.

Father Kevin further stated that the practice of attaching photos to ballot papers was already common among other African countries and Nigeria ought to follow suit. The priest wrote:

"Dear INEC Nigeria, Our ballot paper should be like this because in the true sense of it, it is actually the individual with his vice that we are voting for. All the elections conducted in Nigeria in the past, the ballot paper just carried only party logos. But it is not the party we vote that leads us after the elections but the individual. Almost all the countries in Africa has both the face, the name of the candidate, his/her running mate, and the party logo on their ballot papers. Please do this for Nigerians."

Many Nigerians have also decided to join voices with the priest by tagging INEC and urging the body to adopt this method in order to ensure a free and fair election. They further argued that in truth, many of the older citizens do not necessarily know the parties their preferred candidates belong and a photo of the candidates on the ballot papers would help solve the problem.
